The Thousand Dollar Tan Line

Veronica Mars: The First Book in an Original Mystery Series - Rob Thomas, Jennifer Graham

Over Christmas 2005 I started watching a show Veronica Mars with my cousin. We were hooked ever since. That show ending the following year was devastating.

Then last year they announced the kickstarter for the movie. And the movie was amazing. Yes it was for the fans, but hey we needed it. Everyone needs a Veronica in their life.

And now we have books :) The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line picks up after the movie so I wouldn't recommend reading it if you want to see the movie, since there are a fair amount of spoilers. It was a bit weird to read it when I am so used to watching it but I thought it worked out well and I will definitely pick up the second book.

I don't think you need to be familiar with the series to read the book, but then again I'm not the best judge. I do think it was a great mystery book and it can stand on its own. But you probably get more out of it if you know the characters and setting.

One thing I was happy about was that Rob Thomas had said a person from Veronica's past who wasn't in the movie. I was sure it was

Duncan. As a dieheard LoVe fan, I was not happy about this. Luckily, it was her mother. I did not see that coming. I actually would like to see Duncan again, but no romance. LoVe forever! Logan unfortunately does not really appear in the book past skype calls due to his being shipped overseas for the navy at the end of the movie. I'm hoping he'll be in the next book.

Ah, young love :)
