The Strange Case of the Broad Street Pump: John Snow and the Mystery of Cholera is a book I have had for a long time that I wanted to read, but for whatever reason I just didn't pick it up.

I am happy it finally moved onto the read side of my bookshelf :)

I did expect the book to focus more on John Snow's discovery, but as the author discovered when she started writing the book, there was a lot more to his discovery. Her research began with the story she had heard of a doctor who discovered how cholera was being spread through a popular street pump and he got it closed. The actual story is more complicated involving the history of cholera and the beliefs of how diseases spread.

I recommend the book if you are interested in learning more.
