Love and Freindship

Love and Friendship - Jane Austen

Yes that's how the title was spelled throughout the book. I was cringing inside with each mention. But it's easier to read than Old English.

Most of the short book is even shorter stories written as letters. To be honest I could not get into any of the stories. They seemed fine, but I was fairly tired at the moment and this was not waking me up.

I do also think Jane Austen works best as an audiobook. The language can be hard to read since it is so different than modern prose, but if it's read, then I find it easier. Last year it took me forever to read Sense & Sensibility, but easily listened to Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion. I think I would've preferred to listen to these stories.

The one that did catch my attention, was her History of England. It is hilarious and worth reading on its own. I wish it had been longer.
