Neverwhere: BBC Adaptation
I didn't realize this at the time, but this is a review for a radio play, not a book. However, there are listings for it on book review sites, so it counts.
The cast was great with Anthony Stewart Head (Giles from Buffy) as a villain, Natalie Dohrmer (Magaergy "Oh look, pie" Tyrell from Game of Thrones) as the female protagonist, James McAvoy (he's in a ton of things) as the reluctant hero, and Benedict Cumberbatch (Seriously?) as an angel.
I liked the book overall. I think for whatever reason, I just can't read Neil Gaiman. I can do audiobooks/radio plays however. It was an interesting story with some enjoyable unexpected twists. I can't say how the book itself stacks up to it, but I imagine it's similar.
The play was a bit difficult to get into since I really had no idea what was going on or who the people were, but I figured it out after a bit. I imagine if you like Neil Gaiman, you've already read this book, but if you do and you haven't, I'd recommend it.
