WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THIS?????

Seriously?

It's fantastic and fun and awesome. I did listen to it as an audiobook narrated by Gerard Doyle who did a great job.

I had seen the movies when I was younger and and heard about the book but hadn't read it until now. One thing I thought would be interesting is that the first movie only covers the first half of the book and the second movie the rest. I remembered bits and pieces of the movies and consulted wikipedia while listening to the audiobook. I actually did like the second one, though apparently it got terrible reviews. I did like how his father was following the journey through the book and that he helped Bastian at the end, which was not in the book.

Otherwise no complaints. It's an awesome book and a reminder I need to start a shelf of books to somehow convince my eventual kids to read. I think I'm going to have to be sneaky.

So if you like fantasy and haven't read this. Remedy it intermediately.
